We’re excited to announce the successful installation of two brand-new SnapSports pickleball courts and a pristine tennis court, offering even more ways for guests to stay active and enjoy their time at this exceptional resort.
This exciting project, led by experienced dealer Roland Stonaker, brings a new dimension of recreation to Cabot Citrus Farms. While the resort is a mecca for golf enthusiasts, these new courts cater to the booming popularity of pickleball and the timeless appeal of tennis, providing diverse options for all visitors.
A Complex Project, a Flawless Finish
The journey to these fantastic courts wasn’t without its challenges. The installation took place over what was once an employee parking lot. To achieve the perfect playing surface and drainage, the south end of the area needed to be raised by approximately three feet, a significant undertaking to ensure proper grading.
Initially, a compacted base with concrete fines was used for the sub-base. However, in a testament to our commitment to quality and longevity, Roland recommended a more robust solution. Ultimately, the surface was removed, and a 2 – 3 inch concrete pad with mesh was poured to create an unyielding foundation. This meticulous approach, though adding a step to the process, ensures the courts will stand the test of time and provide consistent, high-performance play for years to come. To maintain their reputation as a premier sport facility, Cabot Citrus Farms chose SnapSports, Picklegrip tiles, the leading modular Pickleball surface lauded for its superior traction, excellent ball bounce, and notable player safety. In addition, Picklegrip is engineered to support players of all ages and skill levels, a key feature for a recreational resort.
