  • What Kind of Sub-Base Is Recommended For A Mult-Court?

We recommend a 4" court base of steel-reinforced concrete because it offers the best long-term performance. For unstable soil, compaction or water table concerns, we recommend post-tension concrete reinforced with cables. Asphalt can also be used as a less expensive option for tennis courts. Special conditions may require custom base options, so your personal SnapSports expert will help you choose the right base for your needs, but steel-reinforced concrete is generally the best option. Steel-reinforced concrete is generally the best option..

  • What if a concrete base not suitable or allowed to be installed?

SnapSports multi-game residential courts are built to specifications calculated by our engineering department and construction teams. Many of our professional installers have over three decades of court building experience in all types of climates, soil and water conditions, topography, and limited or restricted access areas.

We can work with your contractor on base preparation, orientation, concrete specifications, setting anchors or sleeves, electrical, and other issues. We can also provide a professional to install your surface, lining, hoops, ball containment; rebounder and lighting assembly (hook-up needs to be done by a licensed electrician) once the pad has been poured.

If you are looking to do it yourself we are glad to help you in any way we can. We do like to recommend professional installation because of variations in climate, frost levels, soil types, water runoff or tables, slope, city, county, or township requirements (setbacks, easements, or other considerations) underground or over-ground utilities, septic systems and drain fields, landscape aesthetics, orientation, sun direction in relationship to the court, safety, optimum use or cost to build the court, athletic sports activity interest and budget.

-A complete, turnkey project by an authorized SnapSports dealer.
  • How Do You Get Concrete To My Site Area If There is No Access For A Truck?
  • In these cases, we use a line or boom to pump concrete from the street or wheel it in using a motorized concrete buggy (think of it as an oversized wheelbarrow with a motor).
  • WHAT SIZE ARE MULTI-COURTS? WHAT SIZE SPACE DO YOU NEED?
  • Lining and color design are usually a family decision, but our multi-courts most often have one set of game lines for paddle tennis, pickleball, foam tennis, short court tennis, badminton, speedminton, and volleyball. The perimeter playing lines are 20' x 50' (a scaled down singles tennis design) on courts over 60' and 20' x 44' on courts under 60' in length. On courts more than 30' wide, a 2' doubles line may be added on each side for foam and short court tennis doubles.
  • WHAT ARE THE PLAYING LINES OF COMMON PADDLE AND RACQUET GAMES? (i.e. paddle tennis, pickleball, short court tennis, foam tennis, badminton, etc.)
  • Multi-courts are custom designed to fit any space, sports interests, and family budget. The dimensions that best accommodate the widest range of sports and games (12+) range between 25' x 60' (1500 sq. ft.) and 35' x 75' (2625 sq. ft.). We can build many smaller and larger courts. A popular size is 28' x 46' (1280 sq. ft) but the average is about 30' x 60'.
Families with a favorite paddle or racquet sport may want only the official lining of that sport installed, and we are happy to accommodate. Pickleball lines are 20' x 44', badminton doubles are 20' x 44', short court and foam tennis are 20' x 50', and paddle tennis are 20' x 50'.
  • WHAT ARE THE OFFICIAL DIMENSIONS OF A TENNIS COURT?
  • 60' x 120' (7200 sq. ft.) overall. Play lines for singles are 27' x 78' and 36' x 78' for doubles.
  • HOW DO YOU PLAY TENNIS ON A MULTI- COURT ¼ THE SIZE OF A TENNIS COURT?
  • By using a low-energy tennis ball that compresses on impact restricts the velocity and distance. These balls let players enjoy the same experience they would have on a full-sized tennis court with a high-compression ball. Low-energy tennis balls are used by USTA professionals to teach tennis to young children.
You can use regulation tennis racquets on our multi-courts but our customers find the game more enjoyable with 21" – 24" junior tennis racquets. Two 21" racquets are provided in the SnapSports Fun Gear Pack along with low compression tennis balls.
  • IF WE JUST WANT A HALF COURT FOR BASKETBALL DOES SNAPSPORTS OFFER IT?
  • Yes, SnapSports builds half and full court basketball courts. Our most popular half court sizes are 30' x 30', 30' x 40', and 30' x 50'. Our most popular full court sizes are 35' x 55', 30' x 60', 35' x 65', 40' x 70', 46' x 75', 50' x 80', 54' x 94' and 56' x 104'.
